New Wolf in Town

"OH SURE!!!" yelled Dakota. "BELIEVE THE CATS!! NOT US!! WE'VE BEEN TELLING YOU YOU'RE A WOLF FOR THE LAST HOUR AND YOU DIDN'T CARE!!! BUT A CAT DROPS OUT OF A TREE AND SAYS "YOU'RE NOT A CAT" AND NOW YOU KNOW!!!"

Hawkfang pushed Dakota over, pinning her to the ground and putting his head beside her ear.

"Cram it, duckie." He growled. "You wouldn't believe strangers if they told you that you could fly, would you?"

Dakota growled, spun her head around and bit his nose, hard.

Hawkfang didn't yelp. He didn't usually yelp at all, not even as a pup. His lip just twitched in annoyance.

Dakota pulled herself out from under him. And stood there, waiting for him to attack.

Hawkfang didn't attack, he just turned his head away. "You're not worth it." He said.

Dakota chuckled and scratched her ear.

Artie would have growled at Dakota herself, but Hawkfang had handled that, to her great gratitude.

The cats flicked their tails at Artie, then melted into the shadows, leaving Artie with a bunch of wolves who had proven her wrong.

"Well I'll be darn. It's a wolf." Said Beeen.

Artie almost sniggered. He was so STUPID. But then again, until her littermates had told her, she'd thought she was a cat too.

Again, a tiny part of Tompoko's mind tryed to tell him somthing very important, about who, and what, he was.

But then it was gone.

"So now that you're a wolf, what are you going to do?" Said Hawkfang.

That stopped her. "Um . . . " she started. "What do wolves usually do?"

"I dunno. Wolf stuff."

"We eat..." said Midnight helpfuly.
