Hunters Be Close

Midnight did the same thing, then, without warning, the ground under her feet fell away. A trap, she fell into a six foot hole and lay grouning at the bottom.

Knight stopped suddenly before the hole.

"Midnight!" she barked.

Midnight slowly got up, her shoulder ached. "I'm okay..." she said not really meaning it.

"That's good, because you look horrible" said Knight. She regretted the words as they came out, but ignored that.

Midnight stood up and tried to climb out of the hole, but it was to deep and the walls were to smooth. "HELP!!!" she yelled very scared.

Knight turned around.

"Bite my tail!" she said.

Midnight did so, trying to be as gentile as she could.

Knight began to scrape her claws away from the hole, trying to support both of them.

Midnight clawed at the walls and trying to get a grip and climb out.

Knight sunk her teeth into a tree root and pulled.

Midnight's feet were just at the top of the hole when she heard yelling.

"THERE THEY ARE!!!!! GET 'EM!!!!!!!!"

Hunters!

Somehow gaining strength, Knight heaved Midnight out of the hole.

Midnight heard gunshots and took off running.

Knight began to run after her.

She heard paw prints behind them, not the dogs again....

"WHAT CAN WE DO???" she yelled to Knight.
